Itinerary for This Tour

Day 1   (Tue - 08-June-2010 )

This itinerary is for the first Safari with starting date 8th of June and is typical of the itineraries for the other starting dates but day to day events on Days 2 and 3 will vary according to match times in Nelspruit.

Depart by luxury air conditioned coach from Johannesburg, or by your own means on the scenic route that leads to the sub tropical area of Mpumalanga, the Kruger National Park and to Crocodile Bridge, one of the camps within the park. The journey will take about six hours but there are leg stretch stops and  lots of beautiful South Africa to see on the way. The coach, run by one of South Africa's premier coach companies, has every comfort for the journey.

From the comfort and high position of your seat you will see much more of South Africa, than if you were to travel by air. The journey, particularly in the escarpment area where the road drops almost 1000 metres through pine and eucalyptus plantations to the lowveld and passes groves of orange, mango and avocado trees, as well as banana and sugar plantations, is through beautiful countryside. You will pass too, through the capital of this region, Nelspruit, a host city for the 2010 World Cup.

You will be collected on arrival at Komatipoort and transferred to Crocodile Bridge, a few minutes' drive away. Report to the Mmilo Tours reception area, where you will be welcomed and shown your accommodation and the facilities at the camp. You might go for a stoll around the perimeter and the river as well, to see any of the wildlife that might be visible beyond the fenced Crocodile Bridge camp. Later, you can just relax and have dinner in the warm "Lowveld" air of the Kruger National Park, under  a starry African sky.

Optional Activities:

Return trip by luxury coach to Crocodile Bridge from Johannesburg ZAR 1700

Day 2   (Wed - 09-June-2010 )

At the crack of dawn, depart on an extended morning  safari game drive with your game ranger. Coffee, tea and South Africa rusks will be served at the departure point.  Along the way, you will stop off at a secure site to enjoy your pre-packed, bushveld breakfast.  But, first  things first, and your eyes are trained on every bush, rock, koppie, waterhole and clearing, as you set off in hot pursuit of the Big 5 - leopard, lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and other amazing animals roaming freely as nature would have them. The keen sense of anticipation and adrenalin rush that accompanies spotting a pride of lions roaming freely in the wild, or being pursued by an angry herd of buffalo, as the hunter becomes the hunted, has no equal. To allow you to take in as much as possible of this wilderness, your safari will extend to noon. So, surrender yourself to its sights and sounds!

Upon returning to Crocodile Bridge, relax for the rest of the day, or watch World Cup soccer matches on the big screen, if you are not going to Nelspruit to watch the match there

Extended Morning Game Drive Included

Day 3   (Thu - 10-June-2010 )

Awake to another splendid morning in the world renowned Kruger National Park.  After a leisurely breakfast get into the mood for the next round of World Cup soccer matches on the big screen, or at the Nelspruit  Mbombela stadium, as you soak up  "Lowveld" sunshine. You may spot hippos and crocodiles lolling  away the day in the river as well.

Then, there is also the sunset to evening safari to look forward too!  Look out for nocturnal animals, you rarely see during the day, and predators readying themselves for the hunt. as you sally forth once more to unravel the mysteries of the Kruger.  Return to the camp for dinner and to share your safari experiences.

 Sunset-Evening Safari Game Drive Included.

Day 4   (Fri - 11-June-2010 )

After breakfast, you will be transferred  from Crocodile Bridge to connect with the coach back to Johannesburg. Well, we hope that your team was victorious, that you saw all of the Big 5 and have shot some amazing images to show back home.
