You will leave your hotel after breakfast today with your tour guide for the imposing mountains and fertile plunging valleys of the Cape Winelands, en route to picturesquely situated Paarl in the winelands. The city of Cape Town is surrounded by the different ranges of the Cape Fold Mountains. In the valleys between and on the slopes and foothills of these mountains lies the beautiful and fertile region of the Cape Winelands. Paarl, regarded by many as the heartland of the South African wine industry, together with Stellenbosch, is the home of brandies, fortified wines and natural wines. In recent  years the fruits of its vines have brought forth many award winning chardonnay, sauvignon blanc and cabernet sauvignon varietals. The time honoured wine tradition of the Cape dates back to the 17th century and South Africa is one of the oldest “New World” wine producers.
Your first stop will be the celebrated Boschendal wine estate, situated on the slopes of the Groot Drakenstein Mountain, for a wine tasting session. Boschendal is one of the oldest wine estates of the “New World”, whose heritage dates from 1685. The aesthetically proportioned Boschendal Manor House typifies Cape Dutch architecture of the early nineteenth century. Thereafter, savour the Vrede en Lust wine estate vintages. Here you could also have lunch, before proceeding to your final wine tasting session, possibly at Delheim; a real family run wine estate.
